The History of the Presbyterian Church of Honduras
Founded in the 1950s by Presbyterian immigrants from Guatemala, the first congregations took root in Guaimaca and Tegucigalpa. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the church has expanded to 30 congregations, primarily in the southeastern region.

2027 Mission Trip

Our 2027 Honduras Mission Trip has new dates! Because Spring Break falls during Holy Week, a deeply important time for our partners and churches in Honduras, we will travel May 22–29, 2027.
What will we do while we’re there? We don’t know yet—and that’s intentional.
Our ministry in Honduras is rooted in partnership, relationship, and accompaniment. We don’t go with a list of projects we think need to be done. Instead, we listen to our partners in the Presbytery of Honduras, learn from one another, worship and fellowship together, and serve alongside them in the ways they identify as most meaningful to their communities.
Some years that means construction or community projects. Other days may be spent visiting churches, learning about ministries, sharing meals, playing with children, or simply sitting together and listening. The work matters—but the relationships are the heart of the mission.
All are welcome to apply! Well-behaved children age 10+ and youth accompanied by an adult are encouraged to participate, along with well-behaved adults of all ages. No special skills are required—just flexibility, curiosity, a servant’s heart, and a willingness to build relationships across cultures.
We anticipate the cost to be approximately $1,700 per person—about $1,000 for airfare and $700 for in-country lodging, meals, transportation, and other expenses.

We gratefully welcome donations of any amount toward participant scholarships. Many people who feel called to this ministry have generous hearts and a desire to serve, but may need financial support to make the journey possible. Scholarship gifts help ensure that finances are not the deciding factor in who gets to participate.
This is more than a week-long mission trip. It is part of an ongoing relationship between Presbyterians in Arkansas and Honduras—walking alongside one another, learning from one another, and discovering what God is doing among us.
